A High Pressure Ridge ( as shown by the yellow arched line) is strengthening over the Eastern Pacific and will slowly migrate to the eastward over us. That means it will get hot. A Heat Advisory is in effect from Noon until 10:00 PM tonight. An Excessive Heat Watch is in effect from Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening. The Willamette Valley will see highs warming into the low to mid 90s today and the mid to upper 90s to near 100 Wednesday and a bit cooler Thursday. It will be even hotter in the Umpqua Valley with Roseburg having a chance to get into triple digits on Wednesday. A weak cold front should cool temperatures for the end of the week and the weekend.

Don’t forget the weekly weather quiz. The first person to answer the question correctly will win one week of free personalized weather forecasts. Please place your answer as a comment on this blog. Here’s the question: Which President of the United States died as an indirect result of being too stubborn to wear a coat and hat to his own inauguration when the weather was cold and blustery? Good luck. You have the rest of  the week to come up with the answer.
