Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is “Nimbostratus”? Here is the correct answer.  Nimbostratus  (abbrev. NS)- A cloud of the class characterized by a formless layer that is almost uniformly dark gray; a rain cloud of the layer type, of low altitude, usually below 8000 ft. (2400 m.).

 

An Upper Level High Pressure Ridge will be bringing sunshine and drying conditions. The graphics for days 1-3  show the cold front that moved through northern California and continued southward. A cold front will be just to our northwest Monday. The graphics for days 3-7  Wednesday through Sunday show a frontal system that will try to move toward the Pacific Northwest from the northwest next Sunday.
