No winner this week. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What does the following description actually describe? “Very energetic electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths intermediate between 0.01 and 10 nanometers (0.1-100 Angstroms) or between gamma rays and ultraviolet radiation. Essentially all of them from space are absorbed in the Earth’s upper atmosphere.” The correct answer is “X-Rays.” I’ll have a new weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

Another upper level high pressure ridge (the shaded “Arch” shape) is moving over us now and will dry us out for a while. There will be some weak disturbances that will sneak in giving us a slight chance of some drizzle. This ridge is termed as a “dirty” high pressure ridge because it allows storms to slide through unlike the standard ridge which blocks out any storms from coming through.
