A high pressure ridge (shaded “Arch” shape over the Northwest) is moving away from us and a trough of low pressure (the shaded “U” shape along the coast) is moving in behind the ridge. A frontal system will move through Oregon. As the upper level low pressure trough migrates Eastward across Oregon the chance of rain will also increase for a while, then later in the week more high pressure (see the shaded “arch” over the Gulf of Alaska) returns the sunshine and warmer temperatures.
