An upper level high pressure ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape mainly in blue arrows) is strengthening and will bring back some sunshine and keep the showers away until mid-week. A frontal system will move in as the first in a string of fronts to bring back the rain. Skiers note – Hoodoo, Willamette Pass, and Mt. Ashland are all closed for now. They say they will be opening again when enough snow falls. Check their websites for conditions and specific schedules.

No winner this week. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is  “perigee?” Here is the correct answer. Perigee is the closest distance between moon and earth or the earth and sun. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level high pressure ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape mainly in blue arrows) had been sitting over us keeping storms away. A new frontal system is headed our way and should  be here Sunday. Skiers note – Hoodoo is still operating Friday through Sunday,  but Willamette Pass (closed – opening again when enough snow falls), and Mt. Ashland (closed– opening again when enough snow falls). Check their websites for conditions and specific schedules.

An upper level high pressure ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape) had been sitting over us keeping storms away.  We will see dry weather, but still some fog, possibly some dense areas, today with a new frontal system headed our way, but it will fall apart. The next front will return the rain Saturday. Skiers note – Hoodoo is still operating (closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays),  but Willamette Pass (closed – opening again when enough snow falls), and Mt. Ashland (closed– opening again when enough snow falls). Check their websites for conditions and specific schedules.
