A upper level low pressure trough (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) offshore will send more storm systems our way. A frontal system was propelled through the Pacific Northwest Monday by that trough producing strong winds and rain. An upper air ridge of high pressure (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) is taking over and has cleared out the rain and wind. Note: Mt. Ashland reopened Saturday and reports they will be open now Thursdays through Mondays. Willamette Pass and Hoodoo are all still closed for now. The jet stream is sending storms with a lot of moisture at us from over the Pacific Ocean. A frontal system brought rain and wind Saturday and another one is following behind it. Another frontal system will approach the the Pacific Northwest by the end of the week increasing our chances for rain and wind again. Note: Willamette Pass and Hoodoo are all still closed for now. They say they will be opening again when enough snow falls. Check their websites for conditions and specific schedules. Mt. Ashland reopened Saturday and was expected to be open today.
