An upper level high pressure ridge is moving away from us now and we’ll see a bit more moisture flowing into Oregon.  A frontal system has brought back the chance of showers, slight though it might be. Another wave will keep the chance of rain around for another day.  Note: Willamette Pass, Hoodoo, and Mt. Ashland are all closed for now. They say they will be opening again when enough snow falls. An upper level high pressure ridge at the surface has been keeping an inversion over us. That means warm air is sitting above the colder air at the surface producing low clouds and fog which are trapped at the the southern end of the Willamette Valley.  A frontal system will bring back the chance of showers will return toward Thursday. Note: Willamette Pass, Hoodoo, and Mt. Ashland are all closed for now. They say they will be opening again when enough snow falls. Check their websites for conditions and specific schedules.

A warm front that moved northward through Oregon has brought some heavy rain to the area, particularly near the coast. The cold front moved right behind the warm front. A high pressure ridge pushed eastward away from us allowing a southwesterly airflow to grab that fetch of subtropical moisture and shoot it our way. Now a couple of upper level low pressure disturbances (Shaded “U” shapes) will keep the chance of rain with us until high pressure starts to take over Monday. Skiers note – Hoodoo, Willamette Pass, and Mt. Ashland are all closed for now. They say they will be opening again when enough snow falls. Check their websites for conditions and specific schedules.
