Here is my weekly weather quiz question. The Hurricane season officially just ended Wednesday so I thought one more hurricane question was in order. Here it is. Only two Category 5 hurricanes with winds over 155 mph hit the USA between 1900 and 1996. What were their names? Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

A high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape on the jet stream) is moving over us and the airflow will dry us out and return the sunshine. So, for the better part of the next 6 days we’ll see sunshine after the late night and early AM fog clears out. That also means that our air quality will suffer with the sinking air of high pressure holding on to the pollutants at the surface.
