An upper level high pressure ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) took control of our weather for a few days. That means we saw much more sunshine and temperatures warming to well above normal. Next in line is an upper level low replacing the ridge and pushing a cold front through the Pacific Northwest producing another chance of showers with much cooler temperatures.

Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What does the acronym “NCEP” represent? Here is the correct answer. NCEP stands for National Centers for Environmental Prediction. A part of the National Weather Service which provides nationwide computerized and manual guidance to Warning and Forecast Offices concerning the forecast of basic weather elements. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level high pressure ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) took control of our weather for a few days. That means we saw much more sunshine and temperatures warming to well above normal again today. Next in line is an upper level low replacing the ridge and pushing a cold front into the Pacific Northwest overnight tonight for Mother’s Day producing another chance of showers with much cooler temperatures.

An upper level high pressure ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) is taking control of our weather for a few days. That means we’ll see a much more sunshine and temperatures warming to well above normal through Saturday. A peek at the future shows a  cold front moving in for Mother’s Day producing another chance of showers  starting Sunday night.
