An upper level high pressure ridge is getting stronger bringing dry weather and much warmer temperatures today through Friday. Some of those high temperatures will be well above normal for this time of the year and therefore we could set some new record highs. A weak cold front slides in Friday just cooling us down a bit. There will be a slight chance of showers with the cooler temperatures behind that front on Saturday.

An upper level ridge of high pressure, called an “Omega Block” because it is shaped like the Greek letter Omega,(Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) has taken over clearing us out and keeping the sunshine around for the rest of the workweek, today. A weak cold front sneaks by the ridge and crosses the Oregon coast Saturday, but falls apart just giving us some clouds. Another frontal system behind it brings the chance of rain Sunday night. Here is the position of two frontal systems a week from today.
