Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is “Aurora Australis?” Here is the correct answer. Aurora Australis is the same as Aurora Borealis, but in the Southern Hemisphere. Also known as the southern lights; the luminous, radiant emission from the upper atmosphere over middle and high latitudes, and centred around the earth’s magnetic poles. These silent fireworks are often seen on clear winter nights in a variety of shapes and colors. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you Monday. The first person to post the correct answer as a comment on this page will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs.  Good luck.

An Upper Level High Pressure Ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) really heats us up. The graphics for days 1-3 show the next frontal system that will approach Oregon Between Tuesday and Wednesday. The graphics for days 3-7 show that frontal system after it passes through the Pacific Northwest.
