Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What are “Nocturnal Thunderstorms?” Here is the correct answer. Nocturnal Thunderstorms are Thunderstorms which develop after sunset. They are often associated with the strengthening of the low level jet and are most common over the Plains states. They also occur over warm water and may be associated with the seaward extent of the overnight land breeze.

An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough has enhances the moisture of approaching frontal systems, but weak high pressure gave us a short break from the rain. The graphics for days 1-3  show a frontal system that faded as it moved into Oregon and another one behind it Monday. The graphics for days 3-7  Tuesday through Saturday show a frontal system moving into the Pacific Northwest next Saturday.
