trough of low pressure (shaded area that’s “U” shaped )  is moving to the east and spreading south and high pressure is moving in after it. A weak frontal system has been coming through the state.  As the low pressure moves out high pressure behind it gave us a short brighter period Saturday, but tit should be even better today.  The next storm system will be moving in tonight and  Monday (Here is its position Tuesday morning) bringing with it more precipitation.

For the start of the Eugene Marathon look for morning clouds with temperatures in the upper 30’s to near 40. The sun will start peeking out maybe in the morning but definitely  by the afternoon (the race will be over by then except possibly for the slower walkers) when the high temperature hits 66. Bad weather for the marathon would be bright sunshine with no clouds in the sky and very warm temperatures or overcast and very chilly with rain and wind. None of that will be happening, so get out and enjoy the day whether you are in the marathon, watching the marathon or doing something else altogether different.

trough of low pressure (shaded area that’s “U” shaped )  is moving to the east and spreading south and high pressure is moving in after it. A weak frontal system (coming out of  the Gulf of Alaska) is coming through today and will keep our temperatures at comfortable levels. As the low pressure moves out high pressure behind it will give us a short brighter period today, but the weekend won’t be perfect.  The next storm system will be moving in late Sunday to Monday bringing with it more precipitation. Does this weather pattern sound familiar? At least most of the sunshine has been occurring over the weekend when a lot of people want to play or putter around outdoors.
