A  high pressure ridge (shaded “Arch” shape over the Northwest) brought sunshine to the Pacific Northwest and  kept us warmer than normal. That is changing, slowly. A trough of low pressure (the shaded “U” shape to the West) will be moving in behind the ridge. A frontal system (shown offshore) will push through by early Sunday as the upper level low pressure trough migrates Eastward across Oregon. The chance of rain will also increase.
