Here is my weekly weather quiz question for you this week. Why are clouds white? It’s actually pretty easy. Please post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The jet stream shows a high pressure ridge (shaded “arch” shaped area with blue arrows) building over the Pacific Northwest. The  ridge will protect us at least through the end of the week when the computer models indicate a wet weather pattern may begin as another frontal system moves in. Remember that, particularly this time of the year, when it’s not raining it is usually fogging.

There have been some technical problems with publishing my weather blog. They have been resolved and I will have new updated forecasts for you later this afternoon. I hope this hasn’t caused any problems for you. Thank you for being loyal to my weather blog.

An upper level high pressure ridge (“Arch”shape in the jet stream) is building in over us and that should mean it will stay dry, but a frontal system that is moving through Washington is sliding through and changing that. We are looking at a wet day today and dry starting Saturday. That should be good for the “Champions Parade” at 10 AM for the Ducks 12-0 season and BCS run. May be a little AM fog, but no rain. Remember that, particularly this time of the year, when it’s not raining it is usually fogging.
