A strong upper level trough of low pressure is sending a frontal system to us from the southwest. The result is clouds and rain and more storms will follow. Here is the frontal system at the coast Friday. Another storm system will approach Sunday. Add those up and you get a lot of rainy days to come.

The upper level trough of low pressure that helped cause the windy conditions Thursday is moving away from us as an upper level high replaces it to clear us out for part of the weekend. The clouds are gathering and showers aren’t too far behind.

THE GEMINID METEOR SHOWER: They say the best meteor shower of the year, the Geminids, peaks this weekend when Earth passes through a stream of debris from “rock comet” 3200 Phaethon. The upper level trough of low pressure helped cause the windy conditions Thursday is moving away from us as an upper level high replaces it to clear us out a bit for most of the weekend.

THE GEMINID METEOR SHOWER: The best meteor shower of the year, the Geminids, peaks this weekend when Earth passes through a stream of debris from “rock comet” 3200 Phaethon. An upper level trough of low pressure in the Gulf of Alaska is spinning frontal systems at us. The frontal system that has caused the windy conditions is still heading northeastward with a secondary low riding behind the main low. They have passed by us now and high pressure will take over for the weekend.
