Another  Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (“U” shape) is sending more moisture to the Pacific Northwest in the form of an Atmospheric River. The graphics for days 1-3 show the cold front that moved through the Pacific Northwest today.  The graphics for days 3-7  Thursday through Monday show the continuing series of complex frontal systems that will slide into the Pacific Northwest through the period.

Note: Willamette Pass, Hoodoo, and Mt. Ashland  are still open for skiing. With the heavy snow pack the ski season is booming. Check their Web Sites for specific dates and times of operation.

Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is “Kinetic Energy? Here is the correct answer.  Kinetic Energy is energy that a body has as a result of its motion. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is “Kinetic Energy? Here is the correct answer.  Kinetic Energy is energy that a body has as a result of its motion. Mathematically, it is defined as one-half the product of a body’s mass and the square of its speed (KE = 1/2 * mass * velocity squared).
