_______________

The high pressure ridge ( “Arch” shape) that gave us a beautiful Sunday is moving to the East and will be replaced by a low pressure trough (“U” shape offshore). A frontal system has moved through the Pacific Northwest spreading rain and cooler temperatures with it. There will be some sun breaks early today in the valley. The low pressure trough will bring in even more rain and cool temperatures tonight and Wednesday. After a break over the weekend another cold front should be just offshore next Monday morning.

Here is my weakly weather quiz question. What is the difference between an average rainbow and an upside-down rainbow? Please post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized  weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.
