Error,Error!
_______________
I have to apologize for a technical error that led me to believe we had no winner in this week’s weather quiz question. Here is the question once again with the correct answer that was posted. In the Willamette Valley what does it mean when you see large numbers of sea gulls gathering at school and supermarket parking lots?  Leslie Prieto was the first person to post the following correct answer. “They hang around parking lots, especially in rough weather. Birds are often carried to different locations by the winds of storms. If the sea is too rough, they go inland for a while. If the lot has the right wind currents around it so that the seagulls can ride the currents without expending energy while hanging around waiting for feeding opportunities.” I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting next Monday. Please post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments/comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized  weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count.
_______________
An upper air trough of low pressure (“U” shape) moved across Oregon. A cold front moved through the Pacific Northwest Saturday giving us more rain than expected. The airflow will straighten out quite a bit and that will decrease the flow of colder air that has been coming out of the Gulf of Alaska. Low pressure is rolling up the cold front that pushed through Saturday keeping the chance of showers around today. The result will be slowly warming temperatures, but it will still be wet. So far a big break from the rain is expected for your Tuesday (where have we heard that before) with slight chances of getting wet the rest of the week. The next serious frontal system should be here by Saturday.

Advisories:  A FREEZE WATCH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE MONDAY NIGHT UNTIL TUESDAY MORNING FOR CENTRAL DOUGLAS COUNTY, EASTERN CURRY COUNTY, JOSEPHINE COUNTY, AND JACKSON COUNTY.
