The upper airflow (look at the little arrows along the coast) is curving from the southwest bringing warmer more moist air into Oregon. It’s called the “Pineapple Express” because the airflow is actually coming from Hawaii. One frontal system will push into our area (see last frame of animation) followed by others.

Advisories: A HIGH SURF ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING UNTIL NOON THURSDAY FOR THE ENTIRE OREGON COAST. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE NORTHERN PART OF THE NORTH CASCADES ABOVE 5,500′ UNTIL 10 PM TONIGHT.

For the Willamette Valley: Today we will see showers high near 50 again then a chance of evening showers and showers  likely (60%) at night low 40-42. There will be a (50%) chance of rain Thursday high near 50. Thursday night through Tuesday there will be a (40-60%) chance of rain lows mid to upper 30s  highs mid to upper 40s to near 50.

For the Umpqua Basin:  Showers  today high in the low 50s . Showers  likely (60%) this evening then rain late tonight  low 41-44. Mostly cloudy chance (40%) rain Thursday and rain likely at night high in the low 50s. Friday through Sunday a (50-60%) chance of rain highs in the mid 40s to near 50 lows in the upper 30s to low 40s. Rain will be likely Monday, Monday night, and Tuesday lows near  40 highs in the mid to upper 40s.

Forecast for the South Coast: Showers today and showers at night  high 55 low 45. A (50-60%) chance of rain Thursday through Sunday high 50-53 low 42-45. Rain likely (60%) Sunday night through  Tuesday highs near 50 lows in the low 40s.

For the Cascades of Lane County:  Today rain snow level 5,0001-3″ of snow possible. Showers likely tonight snow level 5,000′ 1-4″ of snow.  A chance of rain Thursday snow level 6,000′ . Rain Thursday night snow level 7,000′. Chance of rain Friday through Sunday  snow level above the passes. Sunday night through Tuesday chance of rain and snow, snow level falling to below pass levels and staying there.
