A strong Upper Level High Pressure Ridge (“Arch” shape) takes over keeping us unusually dry for this time of the year. The graphics for days 1-3 show no fronts moving into the Pacific Northwest. The graphics for days 3-7  Thursday through Monday show no frontal activity over the Pacific Northwest through the period, but a cold front will be along the coastline next Sunday, then pushing through between Sunday and Monday.

  • A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT FOR DANGEROUS SNEAKER WAVES IS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON FOR THE CLATSOP COUNTY COAST AND THE TILLAMOOK COUNTY COAST.
  • AN AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11AM MST FRIDAY FOR THE OREGON LOWER TREASURE VALLEY.

HEALTH ADVISORIES:

  • A PERMANENT HEALTH ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER BAR. POOLS IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP BLUE-GREEN ALGAE (CYANOBACTERIAL) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED ALONG SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE  RIVER.
