A very strong cold front is moving through Oregon. Behind it is colder air which will lower the snow levels. That means more snow for the mountains. Great for skiers and the snow should stay in the mountains and leave the rest of us alone.

For the Southern Willamette Valley: Showers tonight low 45. Mostly cloudy with AM rain and afternoon showers Monday high 49, showers Monday night and colder low 34-36. A (50%) chance of showers Tuesday then partly cloudy at night with a (30%) chance of showers high 44 low 29-32. AM fog then a mix of clouds and sun Wednesday, partly cloudy with patchy fog at night  high near 40 low 28-30. Patchy AM fog then a mix of clouds and sun Thursday and partly cloudy for Christmas eve high 45 low near 30 . A mix of clouds and sun for Christmas day and mostly cloudy with a slight (20%) chance of showers at night  highs in the mid 40s lows near 32-34. Mostly cloudy with a (40%) chance of rain Saturday through Sunday highs near 44-47 lows 33-35.

For the Umpqua Basin including Roseburg: Showers tonight and Monday morning then rain or snow showers in the afternoon and breezy snow level falling to 2,500′ with 1-2″ 0f snow down to that level low in the low 40s high 46.  Monday night rain and snow showers snow level falling from 2,000′ to 1,500′ 1-2″ of snow possible low 32-34 . A (40%) chance of rain and snow showers Tuesday snow level 1,500′  back up to 3,000′ by afternoon high 44, mostly cloudy at night with patchy fog  low 30.  Mostly cloudy with late night and early morning fog Wednesday and Wednesday night high in the upper 30s low 30. Partly cloudy Thursday, Thursday night and Christmas day highs near 40 low 30. Mostly cloudy a good (50%) chance of rain Christmas night low 34.    Cloudy Saturday with a (50%) chance of rain high 42. Mostly cloudy Saturday night and Sunday with a (40%) chance of rain low in the mid 30s high near 40.

Forecast for the South Coast: Showers and breezy tonight winds SW 15-25 gusts to 40 late low in the upper 40s. Monday showers and windy winds SW 20-30 switching to W 10-20 by afternoon high near 50.   Showers likely (60%) Monday night snow level 2,000′ falling  to 1,500′ 1″ of snow possible at those levels  low 37. Tuesday mostly cloudy a (30%)  chance of coastal showers a (40%) chance of showers inland high in the upper 40s. Mostly cloudy Wednesday and Wednesday night with late night and early morning fog and some lingering in the afternoon high in the low 50s low 36 . Partly cloudy and dry Thursday through Christmas day highs near 50 low 38.  Mostly cloudy Christmas night with a slight (20%) chance of showers low 38. Mostly cloudy with a (40%) chance of rain Saturday through Sunday highs near 50 low 40.

For the Cascades of Lane County: Showers and breezy tonight snow level 5,500′ to 5,000′ late  2-4″ of snow. AM rain and snow Monday and breezy then snow in the afternoon snow level 4,000′ falling to 2,500′ 4-8″ of snow. Snow showers likely Tuesday then partly cloudy with a (50%) chance of snow showers at night snow level falling to the surface. Wednesday a mix of clouds and sun free air freezing level rising from 3,000′ to 4,500′. Partly cloudy Wednesday night free air freezing level 5,000′. A mix of clouds and sun Thursday snow level 6,000′. Partly cloudy Thursday night free air freezing level 5,500′. Christmas Day a mix of clouds and sun free air freeze level 5,500′ and a slight (20%) chance of rain and snow with the snow level 4,500′. Mostly cloudy Saturday through Sunday with a (40%) chance of rain and snow, snow level 5,000.
