An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (“U” shape) offshore to the Northwest is bringing some rain for the Memorial Day Holiday today. The graphics for days 1-3 shows a cold frontal system that moved over the Pacific Northwest Sunday.  The graphics for days 3-7  Wednesday through Sunday show another weak frontal system will to be pushing through the Pacific Northwest next Friday.

 ADVISORIES:

  • A WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM UNTIL 11 PM TODAY FOR CENTRAL OREGON AND NORTH CENTRAL OREGON.
  • A RED FLAG WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR STRONG GUSTY WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FROM 1 PM UNTIL 8 PM TODAY FOR THE SOUTH CENTRAL OREGON DESERT INCLUDING THE BLM LAND IN EASTERN LAKE AND AND WESTERN HARNEY COUNTIES.
  • A FIRE WEATHER WATCH IS IN EFFECT FROM THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY EVENING FOR WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FOR THE BURNS BLM.

HEALTH ADVISORIES:

  • A PERMANENT HEALTH ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER BAR. POOLS IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP BLUE-GREEN ALGAE (CYANOBACTERIAL) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED ALONG SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE  RIVER.
