An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (“U” shape) offshore changes our weather pattern. The graphics for days 1-3 show no frontal systems pushing into the Pacific Northwest. The graphics for days 3-7  Friday through Wednesday show a frontal system will be stationary across Extreme eastern Oregon Saturday.

  • A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM THURSDAY FOR THE EASTERN COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE OF OREGON.
  • A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON MDT UNTIL 9 PM MDT THURSDAY FOR THE OREGON LOWER TREASURE VALLEY.

HEALTH ADVISORIES:

  • A PERMANENT HEALTH ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH UMPQUA RIVER BAR. POOLS IN THE BEDROCK ALONG THE RIVERS EDGE ARE KNOWN TO DEVELOP BLUE-GREEN ALGAE (CYANOBACTERIAL) BLOOMS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO PETS AND PEOPLE IF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OCCURS. SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED ALONG SEVERAL ACCESS AREAS ALONG THE  RIVER.

Willamette Pass Ski: IT’S NOT OFFICIAL, BUT DUE TO THE LATENESS OF THE SEASON AND THE MILD WEATHER TREND THERE IS VIRTUALLY NO CHANCE OF GETTING ENOUGH SNOWFALL TO ALLOW OPENING FOR SKIING. CONSIDER IT CLOSED FOR THE SEASON.
