Here is the question for the last time. What city in the United States has the most hail? Congratulations to Syndi Wellington for her correct post. “I do believe that the city with the most hail would be: Cheyenne Wyoming.” Cheyenne averages about 10 hail days a year. Hail is most frequently found in “hail alley” which covers parts of eastern Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming. Hail is also quite common throughout the High Plains, the Midwest , and the Ohio Valley. The immediate Pacific shoreline has the lowest frequency of hail in the United States. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting next Monday. Please post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments/comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized  weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count.

The National Weather Service has designated next week as “Safe Boating Week.” Take this link to see the seven days of boat safety information that begins with this upcoming Saturday.

A strong upper level area of  low pressure (oval shape moving across Oregon) is still sending a little moisture to the Pacific Northwest. A frontal system has pushed into California causing rain there and sending some Northward into Oregon. There will be plenty of sunshine for your Wednesday and Thursday with increasing clouds Friday. Another frontal system will be upon us by late Friday, followed by yet another frontal system over the weekend. It will be mostly dry Wednesday through Friday, but better chances of getting wet for the weekend.
