What is the “green sky” effect? Please post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments/comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized  weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

_______________

Upper level low pressure (“U” shape offshore coming out of the Gulf of Alaska)  is following behind another low that is moving away from us will be controlling our weather for the next couple of days but as it moves the slight chance of showers will disappear. Weak high pressure will be sandwiched between those lows. Look for more sunshine and warmer temperatures returning late in the week. There will be another weak frontal system (position shown on Friday) pushing through Oregon, but this one should be dry for the most part and only lower the temperatures a bit. The drying trend will last through the weekend and well into next week.
