Here is my weekly weather quiz question. What is the “green sky” effect? Please post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments/comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized  weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

_______________

Upper level low pressure (“U” shape offshore coming out of the Gulf of Alaska)  is following behind another low that is moving away from us will be taking the slight chance of showers with it. A frontal system moved through Oregon spreading more clouds over the area and producing some showers, particularly in Eastern Oregon. Weak high pressure will be sandwiched between those lows. Look for more sunshine and warmer temperatures returning. There will be another weak frontal system pushing through Oregon, but this one should be dry for the most part and only lower the temperatures a bit. The drying trend will last through the weekend and into early next week.
