Here is my new weekly weather quiz question for you. See if you can answer it correctly. What is the “Pigpen effect?” Please post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments/comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized  weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

_______________

The summer Solstice is 10:16 AM today. We will still have to wait a while before the Summertime temperatures take over.

________________

A high pressure ridge is building over the Pacific Northwest. That will help  warm us up so that we can begin Summer on a warmer note. A trough of low pressure will move out of the Gulf of Alaska and a cold front will move in bringing some clouds, temperatures a bit cooler and, yes, maybe even the slight chance of light rain or drizzle.
