This is your last chance to answer my weather weather quiz question for this week.  You have probably heard the term “fronts” used to explain the boundaries between cold and warm air masses. Who first coined that term?  Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized  weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

_______________

Advisories: NONE AT THIS TIME.

A  high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape) has migrated to the East allowing an upper level trough of low pressure “U” shape) to build in from the Northwest behind the ridge. That set up a stronger onshore airflow that has cooled us off. A  cold front moved through the Pacific Northwest bringing some clouds and temperatures that are cooler. Another frontal system will be pushing through over the weekend.
