One frontal system , a warm front, moved into Oregon today. As you can see on that map animation, a cold front behind it will move in on Friday. This storm has the potential of dumping two feet or more of snow in the Cascades.

A HIGH WIND WARNING IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM FOR CENTRAL AND EASTERN LAKE COUNTY. A HIGH WIND WARNING IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM FRIDAY (NEW YEAR’S DAY) FOR THE SOUTH OREGON COAST. A HIGH SURF ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON FRIDAY THROUGH NOON SATURDAY FOR THE SOUTH OREGON COAST AND FROM 6 AM FRIDAY THROUGH 6 AM SATURDAY FOR THE NORTH AND CENTRAL OREGON COAST.

Forecast for the Central and Southern Willamette Valley:  Mostly cloudy  with rain tonight  low in the low 40s. Showers and breezy New Year’s day and showers likely at night (60% ) high near 50 low near 40. Cloudy Saturday with showers likely (60%) mostly cloudy with a (40%) chance of showers Saturday night high near 45 low near 35. Mostly cloudy Sunday and Sunday night  with a good (50%) chance of rain high 40-43 in the low 40s lows in the upper 30s. A  (50%) chance of showers Monday and Monday night high 47 low 39. A  good (50%) chance of  rain Tuesday through Wednesday night and likely (60%) Thursday  highs again near 50 lows in the upper 40s.
