An upper level trough of low pressure (“U” shape) is moving across the Pacific Northwest spreading some showers mainly from the Northern third of Oregon North into Washington. Behind it will be a high pressure ridge (“arch” shape) that should dry us out for a while at least, but another trough will follow closely behind the ridge trying to bring the clouds back. A new frontal system aims at the Pacific Northwest on Saturday but at this time it looks like it will fall apart before it makes landfall. Will it bring just clouds or will we get more showers? The best chance for showers will be in the Cascades.
