Sorry, but no winner this week. Here is the question stated again. We all know that polluted air is not good for you. What event occurred in October of 1948 that proved that idea? Here is the answer. The event occurred in Donora, Pennsylvania, about 30 miles South of Pittsburgh. A stagnant air mass allowed pollution levels to build over the town. Half of the population of 14,000 people became ill and 20 people died. Early evidence over 60 years ago that air pollution can kill. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting next Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count.
