_______________
Here we are beginning a new week with my new weekly weather quiz question. There is a way of determining local wind speeds without the use of any meteorological instruments. What is it called and who devised it?Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

Advisories: NONE AT THIS TIME.

An upper level trough of low pressure (“U” shape on orange line) pushing across the Pacific Northwest today bringing more clouds and some with only a slight chance of showers. A frontal system sliding Eastward as it falls apart has brought the small chance of showers mainly this afternoon. The weather will be good for the beginning of the Lane County Fair that starts next Wednesday when another warming trend will begin. A frontal system will approach Oregon next weekend bringing back more clouds, but so far, it doesn’t look like there will be any chance of precipitation.

**Because weather forecasting is a combination of science, intuition, and timing there can be no absolute guarantees that individual forecasts will be 100% accurate. Nature is in a constant state of flux and sudden unexpected weather events can happen.
