_______________

A new week and a new weekly weather quiz question. There is a way of determining local wind speeds without the use of any meteorological instruments. What is it called and who devised it? Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized  weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level trough of low pressure (“U” shape on orange line) pushed across the Pacific Northwest. Behind it we are in for lots of sunshine to return. The weather will be great for the beginning of the Lane County Fair that starts Wednesday when another warming trend will begin as high pressure (“Arch” shape on orange line) slowly takes over.
