Here is my new weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What do the following Eskimo words have in common: Aniu, Apun,Mauja, Pukak, Qalig, Qannik, and Upsik? Congratulations to Mike for being the first to post the correct answer “snow.” They are all words to describe snow. Aniu -falling snow, Apun – snow on the ground, Mauja – deep, soft snow, Pukak -snow that can cause avalanches, Qalig – snow that collects on trees, Qannik – a snowflake, and Upsik – packed snow. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you next week starting on Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized  weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count.

high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape shaded in grey with blue arrows) is nosing it’s way toward the Pacific Northwest continuing the warm temperatures. The weather will pretty much perfect for the Eugene Celebration Friday through Sunday. A new frontal system will enter the Pacific Northwest early next week returning some clouds and cooler temperatures.
