Many public buildings were in flames by the hands of the invading army, but something else caused major structural damage to the residential section of the city. More British soldiers were killed and injured by this event than by the American forces. What happened? An upper level trough of low pressure has moved in along the coast bringing the chance of rain with it. A frontal system is pushing through the Pacific Northwest but it looks like most of the precipitation will be concentrated to our North. A break and yet another frontal system will come in later in the week to increase the chances of precipitation again.
