Time for my new weekly weather quiz question. Here it is. This time we’ll have a weather and the movies question. In the famous 1952 Gene Kelly movie “Singin’ in the Rain” the rain that fell wasn’t just water because the water didn’t show up well enough on film. What was added to the falling water to make it look more like rain? Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

Your Saturday College football forecasts:

The Beavers vs BYU at Reser Stadium – Kickoff: 1:00 PM Partly cloudy, just a slight chance of a shower 58 warming to 66 by the end of the game.

The Ducks vs. Arizona State at Autzen Stadium – Kickoff: 7:15 PM near 62 falling through the 50s as the game ends.

A weak high pressure ridge (“arch” forming on the orange jet stream line) will build up just long enough to give us two dry days. A frontal system pushed through Oregon bringing some pretty heavy showers with it. Now the ridge is clearing us out for some sunshine, but that will fade by the end of the week as another upper level low (“U” shape on jet stream line) sets up off the coast.
