It’s time for my new weekly weather quiz question. Here it is. About 7,700 years ago Oregon’s 12,000 ft. tall Mt. Mazama erupted and its caldera collapsed. The caldera filled with water to become the second deepest (1,958 ft.) lake in North America. How long did it take to fill the caldera and form what we know as Crater Lake? I’ll have another weekly weather quiz question for you starting next Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper air trough of low pressure (“U” shape on yellow line) brought back the moisture as it sent a frontal system through. High pressure returns through Wednesday, then it’s back to low pressure, frontal systems, and rain again. A REMINDER: We will go back to Standard time NEXT WEEKEND (officially at 2 AM Sunday November 6th).
