It’s Monday. That means it’s time for a new weekly weather quiz question. What is a “Haboob”? Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

Advisories:   NONE AT THIS TIME.

For the rest of the week into the weekend another upper air trough of low pressure (“U” shape on yellow line) will be offshore pumping moisture our way, then it will start to move inland. A frontal system moved Southward through Oregon and California,  now another one is just off the coast on its way in. A series of frontal systems like this one will keep at least a chance of precipitation around. Mountain snow levels have fallen well below pass levels, but there is not much of an immediate threat of serious snow in the passes.
