Here is my weekly weather quiz question. This is your last chance this week to win. Since the Hurricane season  for this year is almost over (it ends November 30th) I thought this would be an interesting question. What is the longest period of time on record without a hurricane hitting the United States?  Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

The upper air flow is swinging from the northwest over the Pacific Northwest to bring us more moisture. A trough of low pressure (“U” shape n the jet stream is sliding through Oregon. A series of frontal systems will march through to keep us wet and we will seriously cool down. With falling temperatures and falling snow levels be aware that driving conditions could get slippery.
