Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. Since the Hurricane season for this year is almost over (it ends November 30th) I thought this would be an interesting question. What is the longest period of time on record without a hurricane hitting the United States? Here is the answer. The longest period on record without a hurricane hitting the United States is 3 years and 7 days from when Hurricane Allen hit Brownsville, Texas August 10,1980 to Hurricane Alicia that hit Galveston, Texas August 17, 1983.
