No winner for this week’s weather quiz question.

Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. The weather has played an important role in Presidential Inaugurations in the United States. In what year was the hottest Inauguration day and who became President? Here is the answer. The hottest U.S. Presidential Inauguration Day was July 10, 1850 when Vice President Millard Fillmore  became president after Zachary Taylor died. I’ll have another weekly quiz question for you starting next Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

Here is the weather forecast for the Oregon Civil War today at Autzen Stadium The Ducks vs The Beavers:

Kickoff 12:30 PM – A mix of clouds and sun, temperature hovering from the upper 40s to around 53. Wind S 5-10 mph.

A strong upper air trough of low pressure (“U” shape in the jet stream is moving eastward away from us.  A frontal system pushed through Oregon bringing a last push of moisture. A high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape on the jet stream) will clear things out a bit. An upper level trough of low pressure will line up offshore and a cold front (shown offshore) will push through Sunday, then a break, then more frontal systems will appear by next weekend. For the skiers Hoodoo is now open, but Willamette Pass ski area announced it will not be able to open the season yet due to recent rainfall. Check their websites for updates).
