A high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape on the jet stream) is keeping us cold with some possible sunshine, at least outside the Southern Willamette valley as long as the fog clears. That also means that our air quality is suffering with the sinking air of high pressure holding on to the pollutants at the surface. The ridge will slide over allowing more clouds, warmer temperatures, and maybe a chance of precipitation returning over the weekend as a cold front moves in from the northwest. The full ” Cold” moon will occur Saturday at 6:36 AM, but the clouds will probably cover the sky even if it doesn’t rain.
