It’s Monday, so here is my new weekly weather quiz question. Neither Willamette Pass nor Hoodoo have enough snow to be open for skiing. Here is a snowfall question. Based on 1961-1990 averages from National Weather Service reporting stations what was the snowiest U.S. location outside of Alaska? (We’ve already gotten good but incorrect answer. Give it a try.) Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape on the jet stream) has continued the fog and freezing fog to start the workweek. An upper air trough of low pressure (“U” shape on the jet stream) will return the clouds and chances for rain (which also means a bit warmer at night) by Wednesday night as a new frontal system moves in.
