Here is my weekly weather quiz question. Neither Willamette Pass nor Hoodoo have enough snow to be open for skiing. Here is a snowfall question. Based on 1961-1990 averages from National Weather Service reporting stations what was the snowiest U.S. location outside of Alaska? (We’ve already gotten good but incorrect answer. Give it a try.) Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape on the jet stream) is moving away from us taking the fog and freezing fog along with it. An upper air trough of low pressure (“U” shape on the jet stream) has returned the clouds and chances for rain (which also means warmer at night) by tonight as a new weak frontal system splits in half and moves in. High pressure returns Friday to bring back the cold and fog with possible freezing fog. Still not enough snow for Willamette Pass or Hoodoo to open for skiing, but Mt. Ashland has enough snow that they announced they will open Friday.
