Here is my weekly weather quiz question one last time. Neither Willamette Pass nor Hoodoo have enough snow to be open for skiing. Here is a snowfall question. Based on 1961-1990 averages from National Weather Service reporting stations what was the snowiest U.S. location outside of Alaska? Here is the answer. Paradise Ranger Station in Washington averaged 683 inches of snow during that time period for the snowiest. Crater Lake, Oregon came in second with 489 inches of snow. I’ll have a new weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count.

Another high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape on the jet stream) is moving in to bring back the cold and fog with possible freezing fog. Still not enough snow for Willamette Pass or Hoodoo to open for skiing, but Mt. Ashland has enough snow that they opened Friday. There may be a little precipitation by the end of the weekend.
