The jet stream has positioned itself to send a strong fetch of moisture to the Pacific Northwest. Weak high pressure (“Arch” shape on the yellow line) in the upper atmosphere will hold off the next surface system until very late tonight or Monday AM, if we are lucky. A frontal system will move into Oregon between late tonight and early Monday AM bringing more wet weather with it. Another frontal system will push in Tuesday so the first week of the New Year with see even more rain. Mt. Ashland was open Saturday and plans to be open today. Hoodoo is open today 9 AM-4 PM with limited operations. Still not enough snow yet for Willamette Pass to open for skiing. Please check their web sites for the latest details and updates.
