Here is another chance at this week’s weather quiz question. Wind does actually “whistle through the wires.” What is the name given to the distinct musical or humming sounds made by the wind? The “El Nino” weather pattern will continue to control our weather keeping us above normal for temperatures and below normal for precipitation. An upper level trough of low pressure (see blue arrows over the Pacific Northwest forming the letter “U”) is sending a new storm system that is still offshore our way. For the weekend weak High Pressure will hold off new storms and keep us dry, for the most part. Any precipitation we get will be light and in the mountains most of it will fall as rain and not produce any significant snow cover.
