Sorry, no winner this week.

Here is my weekly weather quiz question for one last time. Which U.S. President had the coldest inauguration day and how cold was it? The answer is Ronald Reagan. It was so cold, 9 degrees F, that the inaugural parade was cancelled. I’ll have a new weather quiz question for you starting next Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count.

Advisories: NONE AT THIS TIME.

There will be a relatively dry period for the rest of the weekend as an upper level high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape on the yellow line) takes over. A frontal system will be pushed in by an upper level low (“U” shape on yellow line) Monday (position shown is on Tuesday) giving us a short burst with chances for rain. So far, it looks like the rest of next week will be dry. The snow levels still will not come down low enough or long enough to increase the possibility of some serious mountain snow. Mt. Ashland is closed now due to poor snow conditions. Hoodoo is officially open (as usual closed Wednesdays). Willamette Pass will be open on a very limited basis for this Sunday. Please check their web sites for the latest details and updates.
