Here it is Monday and that means the start of a new weekly weather quiz question. Here is this week’s question. Who was the first scientist to use the term “greenhouse effect” to describe how the earth is able to keep warm? Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count.Good luck.

Advisories:  A DENSE FOG ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM TODAY FOR CENTRAL DOUGLAS COUNTY EASTERN CURRY COUNTY, JOSEPHINE COUNTY, AND JACKSON COUNTY.

________________

A weak cold front will be pushed in today giving us a short burst with chances for rain. An upper level high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape on the yellow line) will hold control over the Pacific Northwest for the rest of the week. The snow levels still will not come down low enough or long enough to increase the possibility of some serious mountain snow. Mt. Ashland is closed now due to poor snow conditions. Hoodoo is officially open (as usual closed Wednesdays). Willamette Pass will be open on a limited basis for the upcoming weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Please check their web sites for the latest details and updates.
